Abstract:
The importance and urgency of the protection of linear cultural heritage has become a consensus. Taking the Datong section of Ming Dynasty Great Wall as a case, this paper classifies and identifies heritage elements with the existing cultural heritage information classification methods, makes evaluation and analysis of resources with the spatial information technology and various heritage value evaluation systems, and summarizes the patterns of geographical spatial distribution of multi-level heritage sites. Based on the “core protection and multi-level buffer” protection pattern, it puts forward the spatial pattern of horizontal hierarchy and vertical cluster from the macro perspective along with practical issues and related regulatory documents. Finally, it formulates a practical protection strategy in allusion to heritage area portfolio at various levels. In this way, it provides experience for spatial pattern planning theoretical and technical researches for the linear cultural heritage protection to improve China’s cultural heritage protection system.
