Abstract: |
The Linfen-Yuncheng Basin, one of the earliest agricultural and salt production areas in China, has formed a representative traditional regional landscape. This research applies local gazetteers and related historical information and modern research results of water conservancy and agriculture, along with historical maps and satellite maps of 1968, to sum up the characteristics of its regional landscape and building wisdom with water as a clue, providing enlightenment for inheriting the regional landscape, alleviating the problem of regional urbanization and guiding the compilation of related planning in the future. The traditional regional landscape of Linfen-Yuncheng Basin mainly includes the regional landscape pattern dominated by spring and river diversion projects, and the settlements flood control and drainage landscape system that adapts to nature. Future planning and design could focus on four aspects: 1) building a regional landscape pattern with the skeleton of traditional water diversion project, to give full play to the new service function of the urban compound ecosystem; 2) carrying out smart protection and restoration of key areas of water ecology and cultural rejuvenation of key resources; 3) continuing the wisdom of traditional settlements flood control system and, with modern engineering technologies, building an urban flood control system adapted to nature; 4) inheriting the tradition of integrating the urban water conservancy system, public environment and cultural space to improve the urban environmental quality. |
